Currently most of the energy is and will be produced by burning coal, oil or gas, which all produce carbon dioxide. Nuclear power and alternative sources of energy cannot replace the fossil fuels for now.

![]() edit Increased trade between first and third world countries due to carbon creditsUndeveloped countries are likely to sell their credits of carbon emissions to more developed ones because it is easier to sell "energy" that has not been produced than to produce it themselves. Developed countries are thus likely to buy carbon emissions credits to sustain their current energy demands.
