Ethanol Industry Asking For More Money, Cellulosic Likely To Get It

The ethanol industry is facing evaporating margins. According to a report last month by The New York Times, at least one ethanol manufacturer in the U.S. has closed every seven days or so this year. That's bad for the corn-based ethanol industry, but its an opportunity for cellulosic ethanol. Government targets still have to be met, and you can bet that Obama will favor the much cleaner cellulosic ethanol over corn ethanol. Furthermore, with times as they are a switch from corn to cellulose will allow corn prices to fall to more affordable levels, something else likely to make the switch more attractive.
