I'm still out of town, the market remains a little tricky and I'm keeping a relatively low profile for the time being. I did cover half of my AAPL short on the further slice lower early today. Not because AAPL is acting so well, but because the...

Low volume rally, must be because Canadians are away on holiday :) (I know it's because the bond market was closed today). Made money on SSO, and sold it all. Also timed QID well for a trade. Added some more SDS and hoping for a market gap...

Sometimes the best way to determine which way a stock will go is by analyzing what the complete opposite stock is doing. For example, UltraShort - QID measures inverse daily returns of the Nasdaq-100. So if the UltraShort is looking to head...

Bad day. Pretty much flat: -$12.37. I added QID today to hedge my QLD. Timing wasn't right but I feel safer, will sleep better than if I didn't do it. Still have to get rid of 4 positions this week, as per the plan, but I won't force it. No...

The QID is an inverse ETF to the QQQQ ETF. This ETF seeks to correspond twice the inverse of the daily performance of the PowerShares QQQQ.

For example, if the QQQQ were to move up $1, the QID would lose $2 and vice versa.

Overview

The investment seeks daily investment results, before fees and expenses, which correspond to twice the inverse of the daily performance of the NASDAQ-100 index. The fund normally invests 80% of assets in financial instruments with economic characteristics that should be inverse to those of the index. It may employ leveraged investment techniques in seeking its investment objective. The fund is nondiversified.[1]
