Delivery Dates

COMEX Copper futures are delivered every year in January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, and December (all months).[1]

Contract Specifications

Contract Size

One COMEX Copper futures contract on the COMEX division of the NYMEX is 25,000 pounds.[1]

Tick Value

Price changes are registered in multiples of five one-hundredths of one cent (0.05¢ or $0.0005) per pound, equivalent to $12.50 per contract. A fluctuation of one cent (1¢ or $0.01) is equivalent to $250 per contract.[1]

Daily Price Limit

None.[1]

Trading Hours

  • On the CME Globex electronic platform: 6:00 PM Sundays through 5:15 PM Fridays, with a 45-minute break each day between 5:15 PM and 6:00 PM, New York Time.[1]
  • Open Outcry (pit session): 8:10 AM until 1:00 PM, New York Time.[1]

Last Trading Day

Trading terminates at the close of business on the third to last business day of the maturing delivery month.[1]

Deliverable Grades

Grade 1 electrolytic copper conforming to the specification B115 as to chemical and physical requirements, as adopted by the American Society for Testing and Materials, and of a brand approved and listed by the Exchange.[1]
