Wikinvest works like any other website. Functional links are blue; red links lead to pages that don't exist yet (but you're welcome to create them). We also have a lot of other cool features:
At the top of the page is a "smart" searchbar - if you search for, say, "oil," it'll give you a list of articles that contain the word in it (if you can't find what you want, keep typing to refine the list). This is extremely helpful when you're trying to find companies with official names that are different from what they commonly go by. Underneath the bold font (the company name/page title), you'll see a list of concept/trends articles that the company article links to. Move your mouse pointer so that the grey link is underlined, and click to go directly to one of these concept/trends pages.
Normal mode is your usual reading mode. There are also a number of other modes that you can access from a row of small blue links under the page title.
You can edit most pages, and you are very welcome to do so. Once you click on "Edit," you'll find a page with a text box, a palette of buttons above it, and a light blue/grey window to the right.
All editable pages on Wikinvest have an associated page history, which lists all changes made to the page chronologically, the most recent at top (this may also be referred to as the revision history or edit history).
Use this page to discuss the main article (if the Discussion link is red, you will be the first contributor). This is your place to talk with other users about anything relating to the page, the company, the site, etc! Be bold, creative, and have fun(but please remain respectful at all times).
Discussion mode is a great way to sound your ideas off of other members. If there's a change you'd like to make but aren't sure about, this is the place to discuss it. Be sure to sign your Discussion/Talk page contributions!
As you contribute to Wikinvest, your Wikinvest title will increase. This title is a reflection of how you compare to other contributors on the site. As you earn more points, your title will increase.
As you contribute to Wikinvest, you become more exposed to other contributors, visitors and all members of the community. But most important, not only you gain respect from the Wikinvest community but also from any visitor to this home of investment knowledge.
