Created by Zacks Investment Research, the Zacks Yield Hog Index is a yield-oriented index combining equities, preferred stocks, ADRs, REITs, master limited partnerships (MLPs), and closed-end funds. Its objective is to outperform passive dividend benchmarks using a proprietary model based on dividend growth, the capacity to increase the current dividend, liquidity and dividend yield. The index has projected yield distribution of 5.34%, while the Dow Jones U.S. Select Dividend Index has a projected yield of 3.15%.
The Zacks Yield Hog Index has been licensed by Zacks Investment Research to Claymore Securities, which created the Claymore/Zacks Yield Hog ETF. The ETF is targeted at dividend investors looking to invest in a pool of income-generating securities.
