FORT WORTH, Texas, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- AUI Contractors of Fort Worth and the City of Hurst make a great team, as evidenced by their latest production. Heritage Village on West Pipeline Road will be dedicated on Saturday, November 7. AUI Contractors has been involved in every aspect of the project, which includes a fire station, a Senior Citizen's Center, a one-acre landscaped plaza, and a future upscale apartment project for seniors.
Hurst Fire Station No. 2, designed by Wiginton Hooker Jeffry Architects, was completed in fall 2008 by AUI Contractors. The $5 million fire station blends mid-20th Century and modern station design as the initial project for the City's "Transforming Hurst" Initiative. This project won the coveted TEXO Excellence in Construction award in the Commercial $5 - $10 million category.
Heritage Village features a one-acre oasis designed by landscape architecture firm, David C. Baldwin Inc. "The park is urban in nature, and includes shaded seating areas, walkways with seasonal plantings, and a fountain with seating, says Baldwin. "The monumental fountain presents an inviting image to Pipeline Road while helping to filter out street noise within the park."
Hurst Senior Activities Center involved the conversion of a Cavender's Boot Store into a 22,000 square foot facility designed by Komatsu Architecture to offer the City's seniors a dynamic and inviting place to enjoy their leisure hours. The facility includes several activity centers, catering kitchen, dining area, library, fitness room, and 5,700 square foot multi-purpose room.
AUI's Director of Sales & Marketing, Tony Rader, says "Our 16-year relationship with the City of Hurst has been a true success. We look forward to many more years of partnering with them."
