Investment Banks |

NEW YORK, May 15, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kevin Genirs, global general counsel of investment banking for Barclays and former general counsel for investment banking at Lehman Brothers, and Joel Brenner, author of America the Vulnerable: Inside the New Threat Matrix of Digital Espionage, Crime and Warfare, will present the keynote addresses next week at LegalTech West Coast in Los Angeles.
LegalTech West Coast, the largest legal technology event on the West Coast, will take place on May 22-23 at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.
Genirs will draw from his 16-year career as a Lehman Brothers insider to talk about the lessons learned from the fall of Lehman during his keynote address at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22nd.
In his keynote address, Genirs will share the lessons learned from the biggest bankruptcy in U.S. history and its impact on the financial world today in a first-hand account of the events that led to the fall of Lehman. His keynote presentation, "2008 vs. 2012: Lessons from Lehman Brothers," will provide a unique behind-the-scenes history of the final days of Lehman and its relevance to the challenges facing the financial industry and global economy today.
The keynote speaker for the second day of LegalTech West Coast (May 23rd) will be Brenner, author of America the Vulnerable: Inside the New Threat Matrix of Digital Espionage, Crime and Warfare. His presentation, "Turning Your Clients — and Your Law Firm — Inside Out," will look at the attacks and threats that are facing law firms today and will reveal what law firms need to know to protect their practices, their clients and their organizations.
"These cyberspies have figured out that law firm networks are ripe for the picking," said Brenner, who is former Senior Counsel at the National Security Agency, former head of U.S. Counterintelligence under the Director of National Intelligence and former NSA Inspector General. "It's the new frontier in espionage and crime: bloodless but devastating, and it's happening now."
Both keynote presentations are open to all conference attendees (complimentary) and eligible for CLE credit.
LegalTech West Coast 2012 is expected to attract more than 2,000 attendees and will feature nearly 100 exhibiting companies. For a complete conference agenda, exhibitor list and other details, visit www.legaltechshow.com.
