AEG Acquires Incited Media, Creates AEG Digital Media, a Production Powerhouse for Broadcasting Live Events and Other Programming to Audiences Worldwide

International sports and entertainment presenter AEG today announced the acquisition of Incited Media, a leading provider of webcast management, production and media services. With this acquisition, AEG will merge Incited Media’s renowned streaming media and broadcast production capabilities with AEG Productions, an international multiplatform and multimedia production company, to create AEG Digital Media. The new entity will offer a full spectrum of digital media services for distribution across television, mobile and broadband platforms.

“AEG Digital Media becomes a first-of-its-kind production powerhouse with the end-to-end broadcast and webcast capabilities to reach a mass global audience through digital production and distribution,” said Timothy J. Leiweke, president and CEO of AEG.

A pioneer in live Internet streaming, Incited Media was founded in 2001 by Joe Einstein and Ben Rolling, and in the eight years since has established itself as the definitive turnkey service provider of Internet broadcasting and streaming media services. Incited Media has produced and delivered some of the biggest online events including The Democratic National Convention, Live Earth, Live 8 and YouTube Live.

Founded in February 2009, AEG Productions quickly made its mark lending its production expertise to shows such as The Michael Jackson Tribute, which was broadcast from STAPLES Center last July, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and Fight Night Club, for networks ranging from ABC and MTV to E! and Yahoo!

The two companies now combine to provide resources and talent that reach far beyond providing technical services.

Michael Goldfine, current president of AEG Productions, will serve as the company’s top executive. Former Incited Media executives joining the leadership team of AEG Digital Media are Rolling, named vice president of development; Einstein, appointed vice president of production; and John Petrocelli, joining as vice president of sales and business development.

“As the demand for digital media production and distribution grows, we are now uniquely positioned to deliver a range of services that is unmatched in the industry,” said Goldfine. “I have collaborated with the Incited team on broadcast and web productions such as The Winter Olympics for NBC, The NBA Finals, and several prestigious award shows. I have always respected their ability to deliver a best-of-breed experience for viewers. We are proud to join forces and offer unparalleled capabilities in both traditional and broadband production and broadcasting while extending our reach to new clients and audiences around the world through live and on-demand video delivery over the Internet.”

“The digital media industry has seen an acceleration in both the adoption and consumption of premium live event streaming,” said Petrocelli, former CEO of Incited Media. “Today’s connected consumer is very interested in accessing live content online that has high production values and is presented to them in high resolution and high definition. These two companies coming together and forming AEG Digital Media provide the entire content industry with the definitive platform to facilitate, enable, turnkey manage and distribute these content experiences.”
