Objectives of Compensation Program The main objectives of our executive compensation program are to create a competitive total rewards package based on the attainment of short-term performance objectives and long-term strategic goals and to retain and attract qualified executive officers who will lead to our long-term success and enhance stockholder value. Each element of our compensation program supports these objectives. Accordingly, our executive compensation program consists of the following three principal elements: base salary, cash bonus and equity grants in the form of stock options and restricted stock, with an emphasis on incentive compensation rather than base salary. Our executives are also generally eligible to participate in employee benefit and retirement plans offered by us, which currently include a 401(k) plan, an employee stock purchase plan, and health care and other insurance programs.
