Appeal.  Any Participant or Beneficiary who has been denied a benefit shall be entitled, upon request to the Plan Administrator, to appeal the denial of his or her claim.  The claimant (or his or her duly authorized representative) may review pertinent documents related to the Plan and in the Plan Administrator's possession in order to prepare the appeal.  The request for review, together with written statement of the claimant's position, must be filed with the Plan Administrator no later than 60 days after receipt of the written notification of denial of a claim provided for in Section 6.1.  The Plan Administrator's decision shall be made within 60 days following the filing of the request for review.  If unfavorable, the notice of the decision shall explain the reasons for denial and indicate the provisions of the Plan or other documents used to arrive at the decision.
