The ACE Group of insurance and reinsurance companies today announced the appointment of Derek Talbott as Executive Vice President, International Property. In this role, he will be responsible for the management and performance of ACE’s international property insurance business in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Mr. Talbott, who will be based in London and will report to John Keogh, CEO of ACE’s Overseas General operations, replaces Paul McNamee, who was recently named to lead ACE’s North American property business.

Mr. Talbott joins ACE from Aon Benfield where he had been Senior Vice President, Head of Global Clients and Global Products for Aon Benfield Fac based in New York and Boston since 2006. He joined Aon in 2003 as Director-New Business Development for Aon Global Risks in London and the following year was named Senior Vice President of Benfield Fac Solutions based in London and New York. Prior to Aon, Mr. Talbott held a number of senior global property assignments with American International Group in Boston, London and Asia, including Regional Property Manager and Regional Commercial Lines Manager for AIU in Hong Kong from 2001 to 2003.

“We’re pleased to have an executive of Derek’s caliber join our international team,” said Mr. Keogh. “Derek’s leadership experience in global business development and in the international property function in Asia and the U.K. will be particularly valuable as we look to expand our property insurance business around the world.”
