Active Power Appoints Vice President of Sales for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia

Critical backup power systems manufacturer Active Power, Inc. (NASDAQ: ACPW) announced today the appointment of Dietmar Papenfort as vice president of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia. Beginning Nov. 9, 2009, Papenfort will oversee all of Active Power’s customer relationships and sales activities in these regions.
Papenfort brings to Active Power more than 20 years of sales, service and technical experience with power infrastructure equipment. Papenfort most recently served as vice president of Sales for Northeast Europe at AEG Power Solutions, a global leader in power systems and solutions. With a team of sales managers and engineers behind him, Papenfort was responsible for establishing new business relationships with key customers and global account management of certain existing customers.
