Only 30% of the company's 2007 sales came from all of North America. Furthermore, Adidas' sales in the United States dropped by 2% in 2007. Adidas' inability to command a presence in the lucrative North American markets may slow its growth relative to other domestic-based companies like Nike.
The integration of Reebok within the organisation has not only tarnished the revenue of the 'Adidas' brand, but also not given the group the necessary foothold it hoped for in the US market. For example, Adidas's overall revenue grew by 11% in Q3 2008, but Reebok's sales declinied by 1% during the same period.
