AirTran defers 18 Boeing Deliveries After suffering a loss of $34.8 million in the first quarter of 2008 , AAI announced plans to curtail growth until 2012. Under this plan, the Atlanta based carrier will defer delivery of 18 Boeing 737-700s scheduled for 2009-2011, taking them instead in 2013 and 2014. Delta And Northwest officially announce merger Directors of both Delta and Northwest agreed to merge the two companies.
