In 2007, we also completed our Phase III clinical trials with a new ophthalmic irrigating solution based on a proprietary polymer system that we believe will improve surgical performance and ocular protection. Our NDA for this new product was filed in the last half of 2007 to support its use in both anterior segment (cataract) and posterior segment (vitreoretinal) surgeries and is presently under review by the FDA. We plan to apply for a CE Mark in the European Union in 2008.

We are completing Phase III clinical trials with a next-generation irrigating ophthalmic solution that improves surgical performance and ocular protection based on a proprietary polymer system. The product has already demonstrated effectiveness in cataract surgery and is being studied in vitreoretinal surgery. We plan to submit a U.S. NDA and apply for a CE Mark in the European Union in 2007.
We are conducting clinical studies with an angle-supported phakic intraocular lens. Made from the same biocompatible AcrySof® product material, this product will offer refractive patients another treatment option.
