  • a major contract for very high speed trains in France.
  • Pendolino high speed trains for the Helsinki - St Petersbourg line.
  • metros in New York and several other cities.
  • tramways in Dublin and Rotterdam
  • regional and suburban trains in Spain, Australia and Germany
  • a signalling system in Belgium
  • a maintenance contract in the UK.

The engineering group and its partners won a 6.8 billion-riyal ($1.8 billion) contract to build a 444- kilometer (276-mile) railway in Saudi Arabia, Saudi Gazette reported. The shares gained 2.28 euros, or 5.3 percent, to 44.64 euros.

Alstom will continue technology transfer to China and strengthen its presence in the country, which potentially boasts the world's largest market for infrastructure building.Technology transfer has been a key part of Alstom's strategy. It usually forms consortiums with local partners when bidding for projects in overseas markets.
