American Railcar Industries, Inc. (ARII) is a North American designer and manufacturer of hopper and tank railcars. It also repairs and refurbishes railcars, provide fleet management services and design and manufacture certain railcar and industrial components. The Company also provides the railcar customers with integrated solutions, through a set of products and services. TheCompany operates in two business segments: manufacturing operations and railcar services. Manufacturing operations consist of railcar manufacturing and railcar and industrial component manufacturing. Railcar services consist of railcar repair, refurbishment and fleet management services. In January 2010, Icahn Enterprises L.P. acquired 54% interest in American Railcar Industries, Inc.

American Railcar Industries, Inc. was formed in 1994 from the acquisition of railcar component manufacturing and railcar maintenance assets from ACF Industries. Today ARI, a publicly held corporation, is a fully integrated supplier to the North American freight car market. ARI designs and manufactures new railcars, railcar parts, operates a network of railcar repair centers. We supply rail fleet management and Engineering services to shippers, equipment leasing companies and railroads. Our industrial products group provides industry with a variety of services including steel and aluminum castings, heavy steel fabrication, roll forming, production machining, specialty welding and forging.
