ARNHEM, The Netherlands, October 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- ARCADIS (EURONEXT: ARCAD), the international design, consulting, engineering and management services company, today announced that Mr. Steven B. Blake has been nominated for appointment to its Executive Board and Mr. Armando R. Perez for appointment to its Supervisory Board. Both are United States citizens and their nominations relate to the expansion of ARCADIS in recent years, especially in the U.S., most recently through the merger with Malcolm Pirnie. The nominations are submitted to shareholders who will vote on the appointments during an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on November 12, 2009 in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Mr. Blake is currently the CEO of ARCADIS U.S., Inc., which includes the environmental, infrastructure and project and construction management businesses in the United States, as well as the recently added activities of Malcolm Pirnie. He will combine this role with his new position on the Executive Board and will also assume responsibility for the environmental business line of ARCADIS. Mr. Blake has been with ARCADIS U.S. and predecessor companies since 1987 in various managerial roles. Given his experience in the industry and the successful leadership he has provided to ARCADIS' U.S. operations, the Supervisory Board considers him eminently qualified to assume his expanded role.

Mr. Perez was an external member of the Board of Directors of Malcolm Pirnie until that company joined ARCADIS in July 2009. As such he has relevant knowledge of the consultancy and engineering business particularly with the water related activities of Malcolm Pirnie. He has spent almost his entire professional career with Exxon and ExxonMobil in a number of senior managerial roles at the local, regional and global levels and has extensive international accomplishments. Mr. Perez' experience with a major multinational company is also relevant in view of ARCADIS' ambition to expand its business to this client category across the globe.
