Employees

As of December 31, 2007, we employed 10,920 people, of whom 7,852 were engaged in manufacturing and operations, 1,348 in materials control and procurement, 853 in design and development, 285 in marketing and sales, and 582 in administration. None of our domestic employees are represented by a labor union. In certain international locations, our employees are represented by labor unions and by works councils. Some European countries also often have mandatory legal provisions regarding terms of employment, severance compensation and other conditions of employment that are more restrictive than U.S. laws. We have never experienced a strike or similar work stoppage and we believe that our employee relations are satisfactory.

Western European countries also often have mandatory legal provisions regarding terms of employment, severance compensation and other conditions of employment that are more restrictive than U.S. laws. As of December 31, 2004, we employed 7,393 people, of whom 5,362 were engaged in manufacturing and operations, 872 in materials control and procurement, 593 in design and development, 167 in marketing and sales, and 399 in administration. None of our domestic employees are represented by a labor union. In certain international locations, our employees are represented by labor unions and by works councils. We have never experienced a strike or similar work stoppage and we believe that our employee relations are satisfactory.
