Blue Coat Expands BlueTouch Training Services Offerings With Virtual Classroom Training

Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:BCSI), the technology leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that it has expanded its BlueTouch® Training Services to include virtual classroom training. The addition of Web-based, instructor-led training enables Blue Coat customers and channel partners to balance technical training requirements with workplace responsibilities.

Blue Coat offers virtual classroom training through state-of-the-art remote labs in North America, Europe and Asia, allowing customers and partners to train their technical staff without incurring related travel expenses. During four-hour sessions over multiple days, students learn how to install, configure, operate, troubleshoot and manage Blue Coat Application Delivery Network infrastructure appliances to improve operational efficiency. Following each class, network and security administrators can achieve certification in one of four tracks, including secure Web gateway, WAN optimization, visibility and control, and troubleshooting.

With virtual classroom training, customers experience instant and seamless access to a live lab environment with hands-on experience remotely. Every remote lab is equipped with the full Blue Coat product portfolio in addition to other products that simulate a network environment, providing hands-on setup, configuration, management and troubleshooting experience.

“Virtual classroom training provides a new, cost-effective way for our customers and partners to learn and master the technical and product skills they need in a way that works with the daily demands of their jobs,” said Roberto Paschetta, director of BlueTouch training services at Blue Coat Systems. “These Web-based training sessions also enable us to maintain a consistently high level of technical expertise across our call center, field engineering and service delivery partners.”

Blue Coat also provides custom virtual classroom training, customizing training dates and times, for customers enrolling four or more students in the same course. These flexible sessions provide in-depth hands-on training in an environment that replicates the customer’s production environment and can be adapted based on customer needs.

The virtual classroom training complements instructor-led training at more than 80 Authorized Training Centers around the world and self-paced training solutions. Training is also available at Blue Coat facilities in Sunnyvale, Calif., Farnborough, U.K., Riga, Latvia and Kuala Lumpur.
