NanoJackets: More Positive Outlook for Patients

Cancer treatment is a multi-billion dollar industry with many companies involved in the treatment of this disease. With the extremely high fatality rate attributed to cancer - awareness of the disease and the desire for suitable treatments should continue to grow - allowing new trials, practices and treatments to gain acceptance in the cancer community.

The current standard for cancer treatment - involving invasive and harsh chemotherapy can provide a reasonably successful treatment of cancer, and even result in remission of malignant tumors. Unfortunately the process is very painful for the patients themselves - and often involves a long, time-consuming process lasting several months. Chemotherapy can help fight cancer into remission - however the result is often that patients are left in an extremely weak & debilitated state. At times cancer patients relapse and develop new tumors, forcing them to face the harsh reality of having to go through difficult chemotherapy or surgery again.

Studies have shown that those patients who maintain a positive attitude about the disease - and actually accept the situation that life has handed them actually fair far better in cancer treatments than patients who struggle and deny the fact that they have cancer and must go through quite a bit of pain and difficulty to recover. Children who are diagnosed with cancer often times cope with their disease much better than adults, and have a fairly high rate of cancer recovery. It is no real wonder, children simply want to go out and play - and spend their time out of chemo doing things that make them happy. Adults may deal with things differently than children - and have to deal with "life" - having a negative outlook on their cancer and the treatment they must go through. This may be part (but not all) of the reason why children have a higher rate of recovery and more positive outlook when dealing with cancer.

Enter Nanotechnology - an extremely young branch of science - with many exciting treatments for diseases, including cancer. One treatment stemming from the world of nanotechnology involves the technology called NanoJackets. NanoJackets encapsulate existing chemotherapeutic drugs, reducing the toxicity of cancer fighting drugs while improving the effectiveness of the body to recover from the disease. What's more is that the use of NanoJackets will actually reduce the pain that the cancer patient will feel during treatment.

Imagine two treatment choices for a cancer patient: one which involves a great deal of pain and suffering and another which involves significantly less pain, quite possible moderate or tolerable pain. The treatment administered by use of NanoJacket technology can give patients hope and positive outlook they need to deal with such a difficult disease. While the technology is still developing, NanoJackets potentially provide patients with the opportunity to remain optimistic about their chances of survival AND their chances of living normal lives while undergoing treatment. The potential for this treatment is very good and can improve the outlook of cancer patients when they think of the disease they have. A patient who knows that they will undergo less pain and have a chance of remission - will likely still do the things that make them happy and will focus less on the negative aspects of cancer. This in and of itself can improve likelihood of successful treatment - allowing patients to live happier and more positively, accepting the situation from the moment they are diagnosed with the disease.

Cancer Therapeutics' decision to nurture and help grow companies like NanoTherapies is a very good business decision, but also appears to be a very good decision for the cancer industry itself. If the less painful NanoJacket technology gains acceptance in the cancer community, patients will feel less pain and improved recovery from the disease they have. NanoTherepies will definitely benefit from this and grow in size with sales of NanoJackets. This can help fuel some cash into the NanoTherapies for development of future treatments using nanotechnology. Cancer Therapeutics stands to benefit from any recognition or attention achieved by NanoTherapies. With a 25% stake in ownership of NanoTherapies, Cancer Therapeutics has a very strong asset on its balance sheet. This asset will only grow in size if NanoJacket technology gains acceptance and NanoTherapies reaps the benefits of new sales and orders from the treatment.
