Cardinal Promotes Denas to Senior Vice President

The board of directors of Cardinal Bank (NASDAQ:CFNL) recently announced the appointment of Karen S. Denas to Senior Vice President, Retail Administration. In this capacity, Denas will be responsible for the tactical leadership of Cardinal’s twenty-five branch network, as well as the management of retail sales activities, employee development, and sales and service initiatives.

Denas has more than 25 years of retail banking service and branch management experience, working at Bank of America and M&T Bank before joining Cardinal in 2003. Most recently, Denas served Cardinal as a Retail Sales & Service Manager. Denas was directly responsible for the launch of Cardinal’s School Bank Partnership Program in 2005. This highly praised financial literacy initiative now has ten student-run, school bank partnerships with area school systems in the Greater Washington region, and provides students with hands-on experience in basic financial management. Denas received the Prince William County Partner of the Year award in 2006 recognizing her work with Benton Middle School in Manassas.

“Karen’s depth of banking experience and leadership has proven to be major asset at Cardinal Bank,” said Alice Frazier, Executive Vice President, and Office of the Chairman. “We are pleased that Karen will lead our Retail team’s efforts to serve our customers with excellence.”

Denas, a longtime resident of Prince William County, is a graduate of the Virginia Bankers School of Bank Management.
