Colorado Technical University Denver Campus Launches Doctoral Programs

Colorado Technical University (CTU), a leading provider of education to career-motivated students, has launched four doctor of management programs available through its Denver North campus in Westminster.

Students can enroll in four doctor of management programs through Sept. 15, with classes beginning Oct. 2. For more information, prospective doctoral students can call the Westminster campus at (303) 362-2901 or visit www.coloradotech.edu/IAS.

“Since Denver is at the heart of some of the nation’s emerging industries and professional fields, we are proud to offer doctoral degrees to career-focused Coloradans,” said Mark Pieffer, President of the CTU Denver Campuses located in Westminster and Denver. “We’re dedicated to providing students with the skills they need to succeed in the real world and maximize their career potential. Through our new advanced studies programs, we want to help the Denver workforce meet the challenges of today’s economy by preparing for tomorrow’s jobs.”

The available doctor of management degree programs have concentrations in four areas, including environmental and social sustainability, organizational development and change, homeland security, and emerging media. Each program is designed to encourage professional development through mentoring, actionable research and practical projects.

  • Environmental and Social Sustainability -As part of the environmental and social sustainability concentrations, students conduct research in a complex organization and learn to frame policy agendas for creating organizational collaboration among businesses, government, and advocacy organizations.
  • Organizational Development and Change – Current economic conditions have made a business’ ability to adapt, develop and change pivotal to the success of the organization and through this concentration, business leaders can build greater understanding to guide organizational development and change. Coursework is geared towards evaluating organizational design in strategic planning, and students are challenged to design a large systems intervention strategy.
  • Homeland Security –The homeland security concentration enables students to prepare for security challenges faced across the country, from terrorism threat assessments to natural disaster planning. Coursework is geared toward analyzing how crises unfold and developing plans for dealing with security issues.
  • Emerging Media – With the increased use of social networking and data sharing sites, businesses are developing increased capabilities to harness the power and capture the value of emerging media. The concentration takes a multidisciplinary approach in examining the strategic, social and financial implications of emerging media and encourages students to evaluate, analyze, and solve problems within the medium.
