Forbes Names Cass Information Systems Among the Best Performing Small Companies

For the third time in four years, Cass Information Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CASS) was named to Forbes Magazine’s list of the “Best 200 Small Companies.” Ranked 124 in the 2009 list, Cass’ previous rankings were 104 in 2008 and 170 in 2006.

Staying power distinguishes Cass from the 71 companies on last year's list whose subsequent performance eliminated them from the 2009 rankings.

According to Forbes, “Rankings are based on earnings growth, sales growth and return on equity in the past 12 months and over five years. We also compared the stock performance of each company with that of its peers.” To be eligible, companies must be publicly traded and produce annual revenue between $5 million and $750 million.

Cass serves Fortune 1,000 organizations with outsourced expense management solutions for “complex payables” such as invoices for utilities, telecom and logistical expenses. Complex payables are characterized by invoices with high complexity, error rates and content value. Cass provides value by lowering costs through improved invoice process efficiencies and effective audit controls as well as by converting raw data from invoices to actionable business intelligence.
