Charter's operations do not generate enough money to pay off what the company owes. Charter has started to pay off its old debt with new debt, but debt refinancing is becoming more expensive and difficult due to declining credit markets. Charter's stock price is also too low to use equity to pay off debt. Asset liquidation or bankruptcy, are in my opinion, likely for this company.
