At December 31, 2008, we had interests in approximately 41,200 (22,813 net) producing wells, including properties in which we held an overriding royalty interest, of which 6,900 (3,840 net) were classified as primarily oil producing wells and 34,300 (18,973 net) were classified as primarily natural gas producing wells. Chesapeake operates approximately 23,800 of its 41,200 producing wells. During 2008, we drilled 1,819 (1,491 net) wells and participated in another 1,857 (242 net) wells operated by other companies. We operate approximately 86% of our current daily production volumes.

At December 31, 2007, we had interests in approximately 38,500 (21,404 net) producing wells, including properties in which we held an overriding royalty interest, of which 6,900 (3,832 net) were classified as primarily oil producing wells and 31,600 (17,572 net) were classified as primarily natural gas producing wells. Chesapeake operates approximately 22,400 of its 38,500 producing wells. During 2007, we drilled 1,992 (1,695 net) wells and participated in another 1,679 (224 net) wells operated by other companies. We operate approximately 85% of our current daily production volumes.

At December 31, 2006, we had interests in approximately 34,600 (19,079 net) producing wells, including properties in which we held an overriding royalty interest, of which 6,500 (3,608 net) were classified as primarily oil producing wells and 28,100 (15,471 net) were classified as primarily natural gas producing wells. Chesapeake operates approximately 20,400 of its 34,600 producing wells. During 2006, we drilled 1,488 (1,243 net) wells and participated in another 1,534 (206 net) wells operated by other companies. We operate approximately 83% of our current daily production volumes.

Chesapeake operated approximately 18,200 of its 30,600 producing wells. During 2005, we drilled 902 (686 net) wells and participated in another 1,066 (130 net) wells operated by other companies. We operate approximately 80% of our current daily production volumes.
