Subprime-Related Direct Exposures In the second quarter of 2009, Citi Holdings recorded gains of approximately $613 million, net of hedges, on its subprime-related direct exposures. The Company's remaining $9.6 billion in U.S. subprime net direct exposure in Citi Holdings at June 30, 2009 consisted of (i) approximately $8.3 billion of net exposures to the super senior tranches of CDOs, which are collateralized by asset-backed securities, derivatives on asset-backed securities or both, and (ii) approximately $1.4 billion of subprime-related exposures in its lending and structuring business.
