Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network Now Reaches More Than 125 Million Users

Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network (CCTTN) today announced its real-time traffic service now reaches more than 125 million users, spanning broadcast, mobile and in-vehicle devices. Fueling the impressive gain, CCTTN signed a direct-to-vehicle deal with Mazda. Mazda joins other leading automotive OEMs including BMW, MINI and Volvo in offering the service.

“The OEMs that offer our services are known for producing the industry’s highest quality vehicles and we’re proud to provide their drivers with access to the most accurate, reliable traffic service on the market,” said Lance Locher, Senior Vice President, Clear Channel Radio’s Total Traffic Network. “In just two years, we’ve doubled our contracts with automotive OEMs, expanded our coverage area, increased the number of RDS and HD markets, and grew our subscriber base to more than 125 million.”

The company also today announced the first HD Radio-based device for vehicles from Cydle, which will allow customers to receive traffic updates 10 times faster than other broadcast and satellite services. Established in 2006, Cydle is one of the leading software companies in Korea, providing the most up-to-date digital technology to deliver top quality data and easy to use functions to maximize performance. The device is offered online at https://www.cydle.com and is available for purchase in time for the 2009 holiday season.

“We have seen increasing demand for our services over the years due to our commitment to the highest quality and the ability to provide a reliable end-to-end solution for our partners’ products using open standards. Using RDS and HD Radio we provide local traffic and information in real-time to help consumers navigate the roadways in a safe and expeditious manner,” said Jeff Littlejohn, EVP of Distribution for Clear Channel.
