COGN is a software company making products for enterprise wide reporting and Business Intelligence. Management has the ability to assess how operations are progressing on a time scale that is as close to real time as possible. Financial impact of company performance can be monitored as well.

The flagship product is Cognos 8. The company maintains that the differential involves lack of redundancies which are frequent in competitors products.
