The Corporate Executive Board and Corpedia Join Forces

The Corporate Executive Board (NASDAQ: EXBD) today announced a strategic alliance with Corpedia, a global leader in compliance and ethics solutions and e-learning. The new alliance will bring the latest compliance and ethics tools and resources to members of the Compliance and Ethics Leadership Council (CELC) and the General Counsel Roundtable (GCR), programs of the Corporate Executive Board.

“Getting compliance and corporate ethics right has never been more important,” said Paul McNulty, former U.S. Deputy Attorney General, and partner at Baker & McKenzie. “By offering valuable insights and practical services, this innovative collaboration between the Corporate Executive Board and Corpedia will provide companies with an extraordinary resource for tackling the challenges of corporate compliance.”

“Now more than ever, companies are asking us for cost-effective resources to help them build and sustain effective compliance and ethics programs. Success is helping our member companies mitigate key risks and protect their reputations in a measurable way,” said Ronnie Kann, Managing Director, CELC. “CELC Advisory Services deepens the support we currently provide and will help general counsels and compliance and ethics officers succeed in this challenging environment.”

CELC Advisory Services will initially focus on three critical areas regularly scrutinized by regulatory and enforcement officials -- Federal Acquisition Regulation Compliance for U.S. Government Contractors, Code of Conduct and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Compliance. The offerings include diagnostic benchmarking tools to help organizations identify where they are succeeding in these areas and where further improvements are needed. CELC Advisory Services also provides companies with actionable and measurable recommendations to help them allocate resources as effectively as possible.

“Creating, reviewing or completely overhauling any component of a corporate compliance program can be an arduous -- and daunting -- task,” said Stephen Martin, General Counsel of Corpedia and former US Federal Prosecutor and Chief Compliance Officer. “Our expert solutions identify what improvements are needed and provide recommendations on how to implement those improvements in a cost-effective way.”

Tim Erblich, Executive Vice President, Corpedia, added, “The Compliance and Ethics Leadership Council is an ideal partner for us. They are recognized thought leaders and serve the premier global network of compliance and ethics officers. This alliance brings the compliance and ethics profession an unmatched array of insight, practical tools and experience.”

As part of the alliance, CELC Advisory Services will include both free and premium services. Regardless of the stage of development of a particular program or initiative, CELC-Corpedia has offerings that can help move a company to the next level of program effectiveness. And CELC-Corpedia staff has the experience to help develop and implement proven, effective strategies.

“As a member and customer of both organizations, I am pleased these two leaders are joining to assist us in our efforts to continuously enhance our integrity program,” said Garrett Reich, Director of Ethics and Business Conduct, MillerCoors. “This unique collaboration brings together leading edge tools, training programs, data, and actionable solutions to current issues in this ever changing space. I expect this will also result in these companies being able to more effectively offer programs and provide guidance to medium and small organizations due to the open sharing of best practices by their member companies, who are externally recognized for their efforts in the area. More dramatically, this alliance should provide a valuable forum to better communicate with and positively interact with federal and state regulatory bodies.”

“As a former General Counsel, I know the need for reliable data upon which to base good decision making,” said Bill Lytton, former EVP and Chief Legal Officer at Tyco, former Chairman of the American Corporate Counsel Association and currently Senior Counsel at Dechert, LLP. “I also know how important it is to have the ability to translate data into action. This new alliance offers the opportunity to combine the best of two outstanding organizations that excel in both of these respects. Wise corporations will look at this alliance as an opportunity and a useful tool to continuously improve their internal compliance efforts in both education and process in an ongoing effort to be -- and be seen as -- ‘best in class.’ It will allow corporations to demonstrate, in a very tangible way, their commitment to a compliant culture to their employees and shareholders, as well as various government officials.”
