DIAMONDS Trust Series I (DIA), commonly known as "diamonds" is a Unit Investment Trust (UIT) that represents the thirty (30) stocks that comprise the Dow Jones Industrial Average and closely emulates the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index.
The DIA is really an ETF that tracks the Dow Jones Industrial Average. The DIA tracks the Dow very closely. In fact the only difference is the decimal point placement in the prices. For example if the DJIA is at 8112, the DIA will be 81.12
You can trade your views on the DIA by buying options on this instrument. If you are bullish the Dow, you can buy Call options, and if bearish, you can buy put options.
The options on this symbol are very liquid so you will have no problems getting in and out.
