These brand names are internationally known and help to encourage consumers to purchase Daimler products in emerging markets where there are no established producers.

DaimlerChrysler has been able to focus more on the car business by selling assts such as the MTU Aero Engines division and the Adtranz railroad equipment division. Also, it has engaged BMW and GM in joint ventures with technology.

The company's trucking unit, Freightliner, has cut costs and is showing strong profits and DaimlerChrysler is the world's leading producer of commercial vehicles this bodes well for the company as a whole.
