Dataram Shows XcelaSAN® Storage Optimization Appliance for the First Time at SNW Fall 2009

Dataram Corporation [NASDAQ:DRAM], a worldwide leader in the manufacture of high quality computer memory, storage products and software, today announced the debut of its XcelaSAN storage optimization appliance at SNW Fall 2009. This innovative solution will allow organizations to dramatically increase the performance of their existing business-critical applications without the costly hardware upgrades or over-provisioning of storage typically found in current solutions for increased performance.

Visitors to the Dataram booth (#1001) will be able to see firsthand how the XcelaSAN can achieve groundbreaking performance improvements to an existing SAN including: 100x IOPS, 10x MB/s, and 20x Application Response Time. The XcelaSAN performs dynamic caching by applying intelligent algorithms that serve the most active data from high speed solid state storage, creating an intelligent virtual solid state SAN.

"We are very excited about unveiling a cost-effective alternative to the traditional approaches for providing application performance improvements,” said Jason Caulkins, Chief Technologist at Dataram. “Visitors to our booth will learn how the XcelaSAN storage optimization solution can maximize the performance and lifespan of existing mid-range storage infrastructures.”

Caulkins will also be presenting “Navigating the Maze of Solid State Solutions” as part of the SNW Solid State Storage Summit on October 12 at 3:10PM.

"Starting with a view of how most I/O intensive infrastructure is designed and deployed, we will identify applications and workloads for which solid state storage technology is a viable, cost-effective solution,” added Caulkins. “This requires an understanding of the fundamental behavior of data access in the storage hierarchy and how it affects real-world, high-performance computing. When applied in the right situation, solid state storage technology can provide storage investment protection and lower the overall cost of storage ownership for many organizations.”

SNW will be held at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge in Phoenix, Arizona, October 12-15.
