Energizer and PDP Bring Induction Technology Into Play

Energizer and Performance Designed Products® LLC (“PDP”) have teamed up to make charging your Wii remote easier with the introduction of the Energizer® Flat Panel Induction Charger to the Energizer® Power & Play™ series this month.

“Energizer is always looking at innovative solutions to power people’s lives, and the Flat Panel Induction Charger does just that for everyone who likes gaming,” said Jeff Ziminski, Chief Marketing Officer, Energizer. “Utilizing contactless charging technology, the Flat Panel Induction Charger makes charging your Wii remote simple and convenient.”

Gamers simply lay their Wii remote down on the charge pad. There is no fussing with wires or battery packs, and no need to remove sleeves, Wii MotionPlus or lanyards. Magnets secure the Wii remotes in the perfect position on the charger. The Energizer Flat Panel Induction Charger features a futuristic design and comes in a two-remote and a four-remote design.

“PDP wants to make charging your game controller as convenient and simple as possible so you can continue on with the important part – gaming,” said John Moore, Senior Vice President of Marketing, PDP. “The Energizer Power & Play product line continues to grow, and new products like the Energizer Flat Panel Induction Charger keep the line on the cutting edge.”

Last year, Energizer (NYSE: ENR), the world’s No. 1 selling rechargeable battery brand, partnered with PDP to introduce an elite series of products to power game controllers. The Energizer Power & Play line has found great success with more than 1.3 million sold to date. The Energizer Power & Play line includes charging docks, charging cables and battery packs for the Wii®, Xbox 360® and PS3® game consoles and controllers.

The Energizer® Flat Panel Induction Charger is now available from retailers around the country. The two-remote charger retails for $29.99 and the four-remote charger for $49.99.
