BELLEVUE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/13/09 -- Esterline Corporation (NYSE: ESL) (www.esterline.com), a leading specialty manufacturer serving the aerospace and defense markets, today announced the promotion of Gregory (Greg) Yeldon to the position of President of its CMC Electronics (CMC) subsidiary.

Yeldon has more than 23 years of broad operational experience in the aerospace sector, including 14 years as CMC's Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has also been serving as Interim President of the company since November 2008. His first position with the company was Corporate Comptroller in 1995 and he has served on the Board of Directors for CMC Electronics Inc. and CMC Electronics Holdings Inc. from 2001 to 2007.

Prior to joining Esterline, Yeldon held a variety of positions at Leigh Instruments and Micronav International. He received a Commerce degree in 1982 from Carleton University and began his career at Peat Marwick, where he obtained his Chartered Accountant designation. He became a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1985.
