Fairchild Semiconductor International announced that for the first quarter of 2009, it expects sales to be between $220 and $245 million. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenue of $282 million for the same period.
Fairchild Semiconductor International announced that for fourth quarter of 2008, it expects revenue to be down 6%-12% sequentially. The Company reported revenues of $428.3 million in third quarter of 2008. According to Reuters Estimates, analysts were expecting the Company to report revenues of $433.8 million for fourth quarter of 2008.
Fairchild announced its Q3 profit, which fell by one percent, but it was still better than analysts’ expectations. The net profit for the quarter was $20.3 million or 16 cents per share, compared to $25.1 million or 20 cents per share last year, while the analysts were expecting profit of 15 cents per share. The company said that it reduced its inventories and cut its R&D cost in the quarter.
