SEATTLE, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/10/09 -- Fisher Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: FSCI)
announced today that it has signed an agreement for its Pocatello, Idaho
television station KXPI to broadcast programming from MyNetworkTV in the
Idaho Falls-Pocatello television market.
Beginning September 14, 2009, Fisher's station KXPI will broadcast
MyNetworkTV programming along with a variety of local and syndicated
programming on channel 24 in Pocatello. KXPI's programming will also be
broadcast on sister station KIDK's digital channel 3.2 for viewers in Idaho
Falls. KXPI and KIDK2 will also broadcast late news 7 days a week at 9pm
to offer viewers an earlier news option.
"As KIDK was Idaho Falls' first TV station, signing on the air 55 years
ago, we at Fisher are delighted to now bring another channel of
free television entertainment to the region with MyNetworkTV on KXPI," said
Regional Vice President Larry Roberts.
"In addition to the MyNetworkTV prime programming including 'WWE Friday
Night SmackDown' and 'Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?,' KXPI will carry
a strong programming lineup with premiere syndicated shows such as 'Dr. Oz'
and 'Two and Half Men' as well as the new primetime local newscast," stated
General Manager Jim Wareham. "This duopoly station will give Eastern Idaho
viewers a new entertainment option while providing our region's businesses
with a very affordable advertising opportunity to reach those viewers."
