Fluor Wins New Iraq Contracts From U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Fluor Corporation (NYSE:FLR) announced today that the company was awarded three new contracts by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to provide life support services for its personnel and other clients in Iraq. The contracts are valued in total at approximately $80 million and the scopes of work for all three contracts are expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter 2010. Fluor booked the contracts into backlog in the third quarter 2009.

The newly awarded contracts for life support services include billeting, office and facility services which will provide support for approximately 1,500 USACE and other personnel at multiple locations throughout Iraq. In addition, there is also a cost-plus, fixed-fee scope of work that includes vehicle and fleet maintenance and operating 12 remote vehicle maintenance facilities around Iraq. These facilities provide repairs and standard maintenance for non-tactical vehicles as well as light and heavy armored vehicles.

“We feel fortunate that the Corps of Engineers recognizes our past performance and has the confidence in our employees to choose Fluor again for this important work,” said Bruce Stanski, president of Fluor’s Government Group. “Our team is engaged and ready to continue supporting our client under this new contract.”
