This excerpt taken from the GPS 10-Q filed Dec 9, 2008. Other than the addition of the risk factor below, there have been no material changes in our risk factors from those disclosed in Part I, Item 1A, of our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the fiscal year ended February 2, 2008: The recent changes in general economic conditions, and the impact on consumer confidence and consumer spending, could adversely impact our results of operations. The Companys performance is subject to general economic conditions and their impact on levels of consumer confidence and consumer spending. Recently, consumer confidence and consumer spending have deteriorated significantly, and could remain depressed for an extended period. Some of the factors influencing this deterioration include fluctuating interest rates and credit availability, fluctuating fuel and other energy costs, fluctuating commodity prices, higher levels of unemployment, higher consumer debt levels, reductions in net worth based on market declines, home foreclosures and reductions in home values, and general uncertainty regarding the overall future economic environment. Consumer purchases of discretionary items, including our merchandise, generally decline during periods where disposable income is adversely affected or there is economic uncertainty, and this could adversely impact our results of operations.
