This excerpt taken from the GIS 10-Q filed Sep 19, 2007. Selling, general, and administrative (SG&A) expenses were up $56.8 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2008 versus the same period in fiscal 2007. SG&A expenses as a percent of net sales in fiscal 2008 increased 50 basis points from fiscal 2007 to 20.6 percent. This increase was primarily driven by a 10.5 percent increase in consumer marketing expense, $10.8 million of costs associated with the remarketing of the Class A and Series B-1 Interests of GMC, and higher compensation and benefit expenses.
