This excerpt taken from the HBI 8-K filed Sep 5, 2006. Intercompany Loans Certain of the Companys divisions have various short-term loans to and from Sara Lee and other parent companies. The purpose of these loans is to provide funds for certain working capital or other capital and operating requirements of the business. These loans maintain fixed interest rates ranging from 2.37% to 5.60% at April 2, 2005 and April 1, 2006. The balances are reported in the short-term Notes payable to parent companies line and the short-term Notes receivable from parent companies line in the Unaudited Interim Condensed Combined and Consolidated Balance Sheets. Sara Lee and the Company do not intend on repaying any of these outstanding amounts as of the separation date and therefore have shown these amounts in current assets or liabilities on the Unaudited Interim Condensed Combined and Consolidated Balance Sheets. |
