The High Yield Income Fund, Inc. (the “Fund”) was organized in Maryland on August 21, 1987 as a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund’s primary investment objective is to maximize current income to shareholders through investment in a diversified portfolio of high-yield, fixed-income securities rated in the medium to lower categories by recognized rating services, or non-rated securities of comparable quality. As a secondary investment objective, the Fund will seek capital appreciation, but only when consistent with its primary objective.
