Hydrogenics Provides NASDAQ Trading Update

MISSISSAUGA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/29/09 -- Hydrogenics Corporation (TSX: HYG)(NASDAQ: HYGS)(NASDAQ: HYGSD) (trading under "HYGSD" temporarily), a leading developer and manufacturer of hydrogen generation and fuel cell products, today clarified the company's recent ticker symbol change on the NASDAQ Global Market. As a result of NASDAQ's internal procedures following the completion of the non-dilutive financing transaction involving Algonquin Power Income Fund, as announced on October 27, 2009, the suffix character "D" will be appended to the company's trading symbol for approximately 20 trading days. Accordingly, Hydrogenics will trade under the symbol "HYGSD" for approximately 20 trading days. After that time, the symbol will revert back to HYGS. This temporary adjustment in the company's ticker does not reflect any change in Hydrogenics' operations or trading status.
