EWY is the ticker symbol for the ETF known as iShares MSCI South Korea Index Fund. This fund tries to replicate the price and yield performance of publicly traded securities in the South Korean.
EWY's investment's sample a South Korean Index. The fund normally invests 95% of assets in securities. And because it is regionally limited, it is nondiversified. Morningstar considers EWY a large cap value fund.
Some of EWY's major holdings include Samsung Electronic Co, Posco, Kookmin, Bank, Shinhan Financial Group, and Hyundai Motors, just to name a few. These five holdings make up a third of the fund.
iShares MSCI South Korea Index Fund's investment advisor is Barclays Global Fund Advisors. Its inception was May 9, 2000.
