About Market Risk
Interest Rate Risk
The Companys financial instruments include cash and cash equivalents. Cash and cash equivalents include cash on hand, demand deposits and short-term investments with maturities of three months or less when acquired. Cash equivalents represent a deposit in a money market account and a certificate of deposit. The Company does not utilize derivative financial instruments, derivative commodity instruments or other market risk sensitive instruments, positions or transactions in any material fashion. The principal objective of the Companys asset management activities is to maximize net investment income, while maintaining acceptable levels of interest rate risk and facilitating its funding needs. At September 30, 2005, the carrying values of the Companys financial instruments approximated fair values based upon current market prices and rates.
