Jacobs Awarded Program Management for LSU Academic Medical Center

PASADENA, Calif., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced today its award to provide program management (PM) services for the new $1.2 billion (estimated $754 million in construction) Louisiana State University (LSU) Academic Medical Center in mid-town New Orleans. Projected at 1.6 million square feet, this state-of-the-art medical center will replace public hospital facilities lost to Hurricane Katrina, and is on a site adjacent to the planned new Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center. The project will include a 424-bed hospital, ambulatory care facility, 1,350 space parking structure and central plant facilities.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Tom McDuffie said, "This award bolsters our current national healthcare projects workload and complements our other active New Orleans work, including programs for the Recovery School District and Louisiana Army National Guard. The LSU Academic Medical Center will provide quality healthcare to the citizens of southeast Louisiana and support medical education training. We look forward to the opportunity to assist the State of Louisiana to deliver this critical recovery project."
