On April 15th, Jacobs announced that it had won a contract with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for construction engineering and inspection services on the new Lake Jesup bridge and other road work in the surrounding counties. The same day, the company announce it had won a design engineering contract for FDOT's project to widen I-95 in Brevard County, FL. Though Jacobs did not release the value of the contract, officials estimate the entire I-95 project to cost upwards of $197 Mil. The company also announced it would release second quarter earnings numbers on April 22nd. Investor optimism, partially spurred on by the contract announcements, drove the company's stock price up in anticipation of the earnings release.
