Based in Trenton, New Jersey, Journal Register Company (JRC) is a publisher of 22 daily newspapers, and 346 non-daily publications, and is clustered in six regions: Greater Philadelphia, Michigan, Connecticut, Greater Cleveland, as well as the Capital-Saratoga, and Mid-Hudson regions of New York. In February 2007, newspaper operations of the New England cluster (in Massachusetts & Rhode Island) were sold in two separate transactions, and were classified as discontiuned operations. Journal Register's flagship newspaper is The New Haven Register founded in 1755 with daily circulation of approximately 86,600, and Sunday circulation of approximately 91,800. The company's total daily paid circulation is approximately 559,000, paid Sunday circulation is 586,000, and total non-daily distribution is about 6 million. Revenue is derived from advertising (78% of 2006 revenue), circulation (18% of 2006 revenue), and commercial printing and others (4% of 2006 revenue). Retail advertising revenue comprises approximately 55% of total advertising revenue, while 40% comes from classified advertising. Journal Register also maintains 227 websites representing its publications, and it owns JobsInTheUS, a network of 19 premier employment websites.
