Benefit for Income Taxes

We reported income tax benefit of (Won)242.1 billion in 2006 and (Won)136.7 billion in 2005. This change was primarily due to the loss before income taxes we recorded in 2006 compared to the income before income taxes that we generated in 2005 and the effects of our application of (Won)113.0 billion in investment tax credit.

Benefit for Income Taxes

We reported income tax benefit of (Won)242.1 billion (US$260.3 million) in 2006 and (Won)136.7 billion in 2005. This change was primarily due to the loss before income taxes we recorded in 2006 compared to the income before income taxes that we generated in 2005 and the effects of our application of (Won)113.0 billion (US$121.5 million) in investment tax credit.
